Description

New Hampshire: The Granite State. While known for its rocks and white mountains, New Hampshire's mere eighteen miles of coast supports a surprisingly vibrant surfing community - bound by their frozen stoke.

We are building a documentary to share the stories and passion of these incredible people.

Winter Surf

It was painfully nonexistent this year, but winter is such a beautiful time to be a surfer.

If you recognize any of the surfers, feel free to post their names so we can give them credit. Thanks.

  2. Picked up this vid on Le Mouching;
    I lived on the Cape in the early 70'z. Had an old late 50'z Ford bread delivery truck. I would leave it running in the parking lot with the heater on high while I did 20 minute sessions at Newcomb's in Wellfleet.... snow up to the waterline, 20 degrees.
    Great vid!

    1. Thanks! That sounds awesome. You know its crazy when you can only be in the water for 20 minutes. I go up to Wellfleet right by Newcomb's with my family every year, beautiful area. Great when there are waves too. Thanks again!

  3. Great vid. I'm from the Cape but currently live out in Hawaii. I now get to surf perfect tropical waves daily. However, it does not compare to a good session back east with your buddies. Great job showing the core commitment and stoke from surfing New England in the winter. I miss it so much. It will always be home no matter where I'm at.

  5. Ryan - Beuatiful job on the edit. Nice use of the camera. Really captures the essence of what compels us to get out there on a frigid winter day. As a photographer, I appreciate the creativity; as a surfer, I appreciate the stoke!

    Say "hi" to Casey for me... have not seen him since my last photo shoot for Shane Smith/2SI about 7 years back.
